hidden beach 1

this is Arched Rock Beach. it is about one mile north of yesterdays shot. this is where i always come to when i want to get away and soak up the sea.

i always have the entire beach to myself because it is so difficult to get to. about twenty years ago there were huge storms and the pathway from the parking area collapsed and was never rebuilt. now one has to climb about 40 meters down the steep cliffs to get to the beach. it is quite difficult but it is worth it. most people don't try it.

when you get to the bottom you find a beautiful beach. it is sheltered from the winds and all you can hear is the crashing water. at low tides the tidal pools are accessible and an entire new world of star fish and sea urchins is before my feet.

the uneven blue green line between the rocks is not the horizon, it is another wave. it is building, growing and gaining strength before it comes crashing in!
